I believe the value of running is found in self-discovery, inner-development, and connection with the world. To run is to come into our bodies and engage in a direct dialogue between our physical selves and our natural environment; to make contact with our lives directly and to put down thinking and planning in place of being and playing.
Moving through our cities, parks, and wild places on foot is one of the best ways to foster this dialogue with life. It is no small thing that through this movement we recognize our interdependence with the world which awakens our sense of belonging, wonder, and connection to it. My goal is to support you in this physical practice and help you run from a place of confidence, self-compassion, creativity, and joy.
To make the most of our lives we must continually pursue new frontiers beyond our comfort zones. Pursuing our limits, we see that they are not where we originally thought them to be; that our ideas about ourselves are often limiting and self-defeating. But our limits are our guideposts in this way. When we face and push past them find ourselves to be far greater and more capable than we could have ever imagined. This journey towards the outer-rings of our potential, though challenging and intimidating, is the one I am interested in walking alongside you on.
